Tour Description

**Day 1: Luang Prabang**
On arrival  you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In late afternoon, proceed to one of the serene monasteries in town, and arrive in time to hear the typical monk chanting. Later, meet with one or two monks and chat with them about their life as a monk, about Buddhism or about Laos in general. Take part in a Baci ceremony – an integral part of Lao culture and are held to celebrate a special event like a marriage, homecoming, or departure.

**Day 2: Luang Prabang**
Special dawn witnessing of saffron-robed monks receiving offerings. Enjoy a tour of the historical Old Town including the Royal Palace and National Museum and some of Luang Prabang’s famed temples – Wat Visoun, Wat That Luang, Wat Mai and Wat Xieng Thong. Later, spend an enjoyable evening learning about some of the fresh ingredients and vibrant flavours of Lao food.

**Day 3: Luang Prabang > Pak Ou > Luang Prabang**
Today you will enjoy a half-day private river cruise trip up the Mekong Delta to the famed Pak Ou Caves, exploring the limestone grottos which house thousands of sacred Buddhist statues and images. Return to Luang Prabang by cruise with a stop en route at the village of Ban Muang Keo and observe local weavers and whisky distillers honouring their timeworn traditional crafts.

**Day 4: Luang Prabang > Vientiane**
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Vientiane. On arrival, welcome at the airport and transfer to hotel. The remainder of the day is free to spend at leisure.

**Day 5: Vientiane**
Enjoy a visit to all of the essential landmarks that the small and charismatic city of Vientiane has to offer. A world apart from other frantic Asian capitals, Vientiane remains a quiet and pleasant town. Start at Wat Sisaket, which is the only temple left intact after the Siamese invasion of 1828. See thousands of Buddha statues lined up before visiting Wat Phra Keo, which is a religious museum that displays a collection of art representing Lao and Khmer artifacts. Continue with a visit to the most popular wat in town, Wat Si Muang before visiting Patouxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe. End the day at Pha That Luang, regarded to as the holiest site in Laos. This gold-like building was constructed in the 16th century.

**Day 6: Vientiane**
Morning at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
