Greek Islands Family Adventure
8 Days
Adult: $5,090 NZD
Child: $3,490 NZD
Some holidays are about ticking off sights. This one is about slowing down together — swimming off the side of a boat, cycling through silver-green olive groves, and watching your children discover a part of the world their grandparents' generation could only dream of reaching. The Greek Islands Family Adventure takes your family through the Ionian Islands by boat, bike, kayak and on foot, at whatever pace suits you best.
Over eight days, you'll sail aboard a traditional wooden motor yacht, tracing a route from Corfu to Paxos, Lefkas, Cephalonia, Meganisi and Arillas, before returning to Corfu to complete the journey. Each island brings something different: Paxos and its 250,000 olive trees, the pretty harbour town of Fiskardo on Cephalonia, the enchanting Melissani Cave (reached only by row boat), and quiet villages where life still moves at its own pace.
Days are flexible and family-paced. Cycling routes are graded introductory — well-formed, mostly easy terrain suited to riders of all abilities, with children's bikes available for younger travellers (minimum height 130cm). There's always time to swim, relax on deck, wander through a local taverna, or simply enjoy the view. An experienced crew of four, including an English-speaking guide with a genuine love of Greek history, looks after every detail on board.
Onboard, you'll stay in comfortable double cabins with private bathrooms, and meals are taken care of throughout — breakfasts, a run of lunches, and a couple of celebratory dinners are all included, along with bike hire, entries to sites visited as a group, and bottled water during activities ashore.
Families travelling with older children or teens might like to add the optional three-day Corfu extension before or after the cruise, with a choice of a guided food tour, sea kayaking or a sunset coastal hike — a lovely way to ease into (or out of) island life.
This is exactly the kind of trip we love tailoring — the itinerary, the extension, the cabin type and the travel dates can all be shaped around what works best for your family. As availability and pricing for this trip change regularly, we'd rather talk you through the current details than have you guess at them online.
Let's meet and start planning your next holiday or cruise together!
