Prague is one of those rare cities that sweeps you straight into a storybook the moment you arrive, and this visit was no exception. The Old Town Square Christmas markets were pure enchantment - wooden stalls glowing under strings of golden lights; the aroma of roasted nuts and mulled wine curling through the chilly air; and the iconic Astronomical Clock chiming over a scene that truly felt like stepping into a living fairy tale.

We wandered for hours, wrapped in the charm of the city’s centuries' old beauty. From grand palaces to the iconic Charles Bridge, built in the 14th century and still guarded by its stoic baroque statues, we explored it all. We even followed the river to admire the famous Dancing House - its playful, curving architecture standing out against Prague’s dramatic gothic skyline.

And then came night-time… Prague after dark is a whole new kind of magic. With the city twinkling around us, we drifted along the Vltava River, a glass of bubbles in hand, watching lights shimmer beneath ancient arches and castle walls. It was festive, romantic, and unforgettable.

One of the highlights of our stay was a day trip to Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s most beautifully preserved medieval towns. With its winding river, cobblestone streets, and a fairy tale worthy castle perched high above the village, it felt like we had wandered onto the set of a medieval Christmas movie. The drive through the Czech countryside was peaceful and picture-perfect and naturally, no festive road trip is complete without a touch of holiday silliness. So out came the quirky Christmas glasses, Santa hats, and our best (and not always in-tune!) Christmas carols.
