2025 Europe Christmas Markets Tour: Tallinn
Melissa shares this latest update from the Escorted Tour she is currently hosting with Sandra...
Our third stop on this adventure swept us into the enchanting city of Tallinn, Estonia. A place that feels as though it’s been quietly waiting for centuries to reveal its magic.
We checked into a charming boutique hotel perched right at the edge of the Old Town, perfectly placed for wandering through history. Just steps away, the Christmas markets shimmered with twinkling lights, mulled wine drifting through the air, and festive decorations that transformed the cobbled streets into a fairy tale winter wonderland.
Tallinn’s Old Town is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe, and you can feel it with every step especially as we wandered along surviving sections of the 13th-century city wall, once guarded by Hanseatic merchants and watchmen keeping an eye out for invaders.
We experienced a traditional medieval dinner where the staff were dressed in medieval attire and we experienced a wonderful local feast.
We spent a few wonderful days happily getting lost among pastel painted merchant houses, candlelit cafés, and quiet courtyards dusted with snow. Tallinn felt less like a destination and more like stepping directly into a storybook—one that you never want to close.
