Our East Africa adventure with You Travel has kicked off in truly spectacular style! Over the past three days, our group has been staying at the remarkable and Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp in the Masai Mara, situated just below the legendary site where Out of Africa’s most iconic scene was filmed.

We’ve been treated to some unforgettable wildlife experiences. From witnessing lions in the act of procreating (a truly awe-inspiring – and exhausting – display!) to observing a pride feeding on a decomposing hippo, every moment has been raw, real, and unforgettable. Perhaps most touching were the many instances of animals fiercely protecting their young – a vivid reminder of the wild’s delicate balance.

One of the standout experiences for the group was a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Mara. Floating above the vast plains, watching the landscape come alive with wildlife from a completely new perspective, was nothing short of magical. We truly feel blessed to be welcomed as part of the Kichwa Tembo family – these are memories we will treasure forever.

After our Masai Mara adventure, our journey took a slight detour due to the temporary closure of the Kenya–Tanzania land border. Navigating three flights and a two-hour game drive, we arrived safely at our next home: the incredible Ubuntu Migration Camp in the Serengeti.

Here, we were greeted with song and open arms, stepping into what can only be described as the most authentic and luxurious wilderness camping experience. Ubuntu is a mobile tented camp, following the wildebeest migration across the Serengeti – placing us at the heart of one of nature’s greatest spectacles. During our stay, we were fortunate to witness the migration in full swing, and even spotted the elusive leopard and cheetah, rounding out our ‘Big Five’ safari experiences.

With each day, this journey continues to exceed every expectation – an East African adventure we will never forget.
